The challenge
Finding the right rental car often requires users to navigate dozens of filters and compare multiple offers, making the experience particularly difficult for first-time renters. The challenge was to replace this manual process with a more natural way for users to communicate their travel needs while introducing an interaction model that was unfamiliar to most customers.
The solution
We designed a voice-powered AI search experience that allows users to describe their trip in natural language and receive recommendations tailored to their context instead of relying on filters alone. To make this new interaction feel familiar, I applied established voice messaging patterns, designed an interactive onboarding that demonstrated the experience before first use, and validated the interface through usability testing to reduce confusion and improve task completion.
