Gas monitoring made easy

The challenge

I was brought in to evaluate a gas cylinder monitoring application whose experience had become difficult to navigate and offered limited value beyond displaying sensor data. The application provided real-time gas cylinder monitoring but delivered limited value beyond displaying sensor data. Navigation was unintuitive, the information hierarchy made key insights difficult to interpret, and the product missed opportunities to turn operational data into meaningful customer and business outcomes. I led the end-to-end product design engagement, conducting a UX audit, redesigning the experience, refining user flows, improving the information architecture, and delivering a production-ready interface. I also worked closely with engineering during handoff to ensure design decisions were accurately implemented.

The solution

The redesign focused on making monitoring data easier to understand and act upon through a clearer interface and streamlined navigation. Beyond usability improvements, I explored new product opportunities by proposing features that transformed operational data into business value—including a concept that would enable partner stores to sell gas cylinders directly through the app based on customers' real-time consumption patterns. Note: The product has not yet been launched, so the company name and sensitive details are confidential.
